Support-Free-Material Path Generation for DED Processes from Facetized Data

Directed Energy Deposition (DED) processes are a category of Additive Manufacturing (AM) that can be combined with six degrees freedom multi-axis technologies to manufacture parts complex internal geometries without support material, while ensuring the local distance requirements. This paper provides numerical method compute such path, using both facetized file part and substrates locations as inputs. Topological concepts first described introduce method.
